Steve Leahy Concept-folio Art Work Critique

Steve Leahy is a photo realism airbrush artist who has been airbrushing for about fourteen years. He has worked at perfecting his abilities at photo realism painting. He does his own private work for customer that come to him looking for something specific. He works at an airbrush supply store in Easton and does his paint during his free time. This painting was done for the Stoughton Police Dept, it shows a police car in the foreground, in the middle ground there is a police bike, and in the background there is a line of police officers. He uses a unique composition he has made the car smaller than the motorcycle and placed it in front of the bike. Your eye is drawn to the car because of its bright colors. The bike is composed of darker colors that make it the second thing that you look at. Then you’re drawn to the officers standing at attention in the background. By slowly laying down coats of color that slow and progressively get dark he is able to control the areas that are light and dark. It also allows him to control the areas where shadows are so that they can slowly be shaped into what the picture shows giving the painting the photo realism.

What is True Art? Concept

I have choosen True Art for my concept. What is True Art how does a person decide what is True Art. Art comes from a persons mind they create they put time and effort into it so how is one group of people able to tell them that what they have created is not worthy of being called Art.
